When you pets (dog) become too old, do you send them to vet and put them to sleep (for ever)?

Can you take the death body back, cook them and eat them...?

  1. No. My cat lived to be 22. They die when they die.

  2. I don't think so, since getting put to sleep involves being given massive doses of drugs that would probably make any meat dangerous to eat. Why would you want to?

  3. You would actually want to eat your dog! That's horrible! I would never even imagine it!

  4. The only way I can help you is telling you that it's a wrong category. It's food section:) Try "Pets"

  5. Your question started fine then got a bit gross.

I have no problem putting a suffereing pet down, if nothing can be done to save them.

Eat your pets corps at your own risk. The vet uses a very strong drug to stop your pets heart. It is still in the body and could be strong enough to kill you also.

  6. Too old for what? I take them to the vet if they need medical care. That may or may not include a recommendation for they vet that they be put to "sleep" because of some unusual suffering they are going through because of disease or injury. I make the decision then not before.

Yes I take the body back because they are buried near a fruit orchard in our farm.

  7. no i just let them die when they die,

i guess you could tell the vet you want the body back, and then just eat it. personally eating animal corpses isn't the most appetizing thought to me but i guess it wouldn't be hurting anything as long as you had it put down for a legit reason.

  8. If you are trying to make some kind of point about why you are a vegetarian, then I suggest you pick a less touchy topic.

If this was truly your point, then I have this to say:

Mother Nature made us to eat meat as well as vegetables.  I will not knock your choice but I ask that you both respect those who chose to eat meat and those who have recently lost pets who have become "too old" and had to be put down.  Your question is very disturbing, especially to those who are experiencing that particular pain right now.

Be a little bit more judicious when you're trying to shock people next time... you'll find your jabs might be missing their target.

  9. I take them for a quiet walk in the woods and they do not come back.  Better than the traumatic car ride and wait in the vets office.
