When you plug things into a power strip and then turn off the strip is it still sucking energy?

i know its not allowing electricity to the the object but is it still sucking electricity from the wall or is it stopping the energy?

  1. no. it is completlt stopping the energy and you will not be wasting energy!!

    great way to save the environment!

I could imagine a power-strip design that used electricity even when turned off, but the one's I used do not use any electricity once turned off.  The real savings comes from the TV, Computer, etc. plugged into the strip that are no longer consuming power to remain in any kind of "stand-by" mode.

  3. NO. The flow of electricity is stopped.

  4. as Ken said its a GREAT way to cut electric use turning off power to TVs, computers cell phone chargers.all those things that draw juice even though they are "off"

  5. No once you turn off the power strip everything plugged into the strip loses power and will not be costing you money.
