  1. i mean i want to be able to ride on a pane and it not end up wrapped around a couple skyscrapers.

  2. I remember hitchhiking thru Europe, traveling anywhere without thinking if it was safe or not. I'm glad I got to do that then, because I sure wouldn't do it now.   So National Security for me means not just within our borders, but in the world.  How safe is your neighborhood when you aren't on good terms with the people next door or across the street?

For me it has more to do with intelligent foreign and domestic policies than the number of nuclear bombs.

  3. National Security means the security of this nation. This nation needs to be protected from attacks by other countries, but this doesn't mean attack other countries. Think of football! Defense usually wins games. I believe in going after a country that "actually" poses a treat. Iran- enriching uraniam poses a threat. Iraq- did not pose a threat. That was strickly revenge and profitiable for Bush. Bush said out of his on mouth about Saddam Hussien, "this is a man who tried to have my father assasinated." It was profits for his family and other big business buddies. 9/11 attacks were by al-quieda and Osama bin Ladan. Their training camps were in Afganistan and Pakistan. Why not attack there? Why haven't we found bin Ladan, but we found Hussien within weeks underground?

  4. National security is important to the government as it helps secure the people in the USA. Too much security is bad as it can take away your rights and your left in the dark.  I believe that we should have tight security at all points of entree into the USA.  We don't need it in our back yard as our local police can do the best job.  During the last election the Government scared the people and they voted for Mr, Bush, I for one don't like the scare tactic.  That was a sample of too much Government/security.  You don't need the government scaring you, as we have enough to worry about.

  5. N.S.A  The National Security Agency. The National Security Act of 1988 signed by President Ronald Reagan if correct.

Terrorism plus expeditures which where not put to use a person would prefer but on small South American countries.

Not on security for the nation. The term security though conjures images of Security Guards who do not answer to the public. Also Iran-Contra Affair.Weapons selling in Iran and funding of Contras against The Sandinistas. C.I.A. selling drugs in The Golden Triangle. Para militaries selling drugs to The U.S.A. from Colombia. Torture. Attacks on freedom of speech and paranoia which can result in N.S.A. types arresting other N.S.A. types. This at the extreme. A possible misuse of power to prevent dissent by citizens, crush Unions, and possibly assassinate those deemed a threat but on an unofficialy ordered basis. Even official.

  6. National Security is protection of the people who live in the United States of America and call themselves American, from their rights as citizens being violated by those who are either from outside the USA or are working alongside people outside the USA who are intending to harm the citizens of the USA.

An example is obviously being hijacked by terrorists.

The difference between no national security and criminals is that national security is threatened when the organization of the criminal activities are large enough that the US Government cannot insure justice.
