Or inappropriate sexual topics? What do you do? Do you do anything about it? What do you do when your young children are there and the magazine is eye level for them to look at?

  1. I like the answer the first person gave! People today, especially kids, have grown up around that kind of culture and are pretty much desensitized to it.

  2. Ugh! I can't stand the way our provocative society feeds solely off s*x, s*x, s*x.  Your question really caught my eye b/c I just said something to my boyfriend today about that.  We were at our local Wal-Mart, yea, WAL-MART... and there was this Sports Illustrated calendar at childrens eye level right at the check-out line... no big deal, right?

Um, the model was wearing (or should I say wasn't wearing?) a string bikini bottom - THAT'S IT!!!  A necklace of beads hanging round her neck just barely covered her nips.  Quite franky, I was quite appalled.

Most will probably 'thumbs--down' my answer - but I don't care.  I don't EVEN have kids, and I am only 20 yrs old, and I am so appalled that NOTHING is left to the imagination anymore!  I might be part of the new s*x-crazed generation, but I guess I don't agree.

And they wonder why little girls 7 and 8 yrs old want to wear eye makeup and little bikinis and short jean skirts - they want to look like their favorite 18 yr old celebs on magazine covers!!!  And they wonder why 12 year olds are getting herpes of the mouth - they want to re-enact that "cool" oral s*x scene they saw on late-night HBO or from the article in big sis's Cosmo.

    UGH.

If I have kids someday, I probably wouldn't shield them totally from it, just b/c it's virtually impossible.  But I WOULD instill in them good strong morals about modesty.  =)  What more can you do now-a-days?

  3. what would you do if your children saw a woman tanning poolside in a bathing suit?... cover their eyes?.... sexuality isnt shameful... i wouldn't teach my kids otherwise..

  4. I don't really care.

I have also taught my children that a body is just a body! No reason to make a big deal out of it. So when they see a girl in a bikini they don't act immature.

  5. We can't stop the world from wickedness, but as for me, I ignore those mags.
