  1. At races they just use blanks.

  2. They use starter pistols (not a real gun), all they are  firing are primers

  3. do you watch mythbusters ???   try looking up ..bullets fired in the air... on their web page....

  4. NOWHERE- THEY'RE BLANKS!

  5. its goes into the loosers *** for being so slow

  6. Well, it would come back down somewhere, but they don't use actual bullets anymore, they use blanks.

  7. they use blanks

  8. What goes up must come down.

  9. Back down.

  10. usually in races  they use blanks instead of bullets

  11. when you see people in crowds like in the middle east firing in the air they don't show you the people on the ground getting hurt or killed from falling bullets, it will travel upwards anywhere from 1 to 7 km. and then fall back down, that's why at races they use blank guns, not real bullets.

  12. At the races they use starter pistols, which fire blanks.  In other words, these are 'noise-makers,' not real guns.

A real bullet fired into the air can come down hard enough to do serious damage, injure and even kill anyone unfortunate enough to get hit.  Before I retired from a large Texas police department every New Year's we'd be flagged down by people whose cars were hit by returning bullets.  Broken glass, dented hoods, roofs & trunks and even steel hoods punctured through-n-through.

I wish people would stop firing guns into the air that are NOT loaded with blanks.

    Hope that helped.

  13. Example> Flip a coin into the air, and it comes back down.* Its the same with a bullet fired up in the air, however some people have been injured or killed by the falling bullets.* Its a bad idea to shoot up in the air.*

  14. What goes up, must come down..... Bullets cannot reach orbit. They come back down, and if someone is in the way they will be hit. Check this vid out from youtube and you will see how dangerous bullets are when fired in the air, or at a target that does not have a backstop.

  15. The bullet would come back down and land on a small child or a puppy. Then you would feel pretty bad wouldn't you?

  16. It would come back down somewhere

There are verifiable cases of women being shot 1/4 mile away by someone shooting in the air and cases of members of middle eastern wedding parties being killed from celebratory gunfire

    However

Those guns shot in the air for races are blank guns, they have no projectiles

  17. The guns they shoot at races are blanks. That means that there is gunpowder, but no bullet. The powder is held in the casing with a paper plug, and it just flies out and flutters away. In the old days, a lot of people used regular pistol bullets and aimed the gun so that the bullets would land far away.

Occasionally, on New Year's Eve, some idiots fire their guns into the air, and there are lots of stories about the bullets falling back down and hurting or killing people.

  18. a real gun fired into the sky will have the bullet drop back down to earth somewhere relatively nearby.   In some third world countries where guns are regularly fired into the air in celebration, people are killed every year by accident by falling bullets.

however, at races, they use 'starter pistols' which are special blank firing guns that have no bullets
