When you spin around in circles for a long time, what causes the room to look like its moving?

It makes everyone dizzy. I know it has something to do with your brain, ear, and a liquid, but I forget! Please explain specificly. Thanks!

  1. "look like"? Why do you automatically assume that it is not spinning?


  2. This is more of a biology question. I would think it has to do with the fluid in your ears (not sure what the actual name is) that helps your body to maintain balance. When you spin this fluid will start to move to the outer walls of its "container" due to centripetal force. This could send a signal to your brain that you are spinning, and until the fluid completely drains back to its original state before you started spinning it will continue to send that signal.
