  1. It means you have a breeding stallion and you are selling your stallions breeding services to other peoples mares. So you offer your stallion for stud or you stud your stallion. If you see this in an ad then you are seeing a stallion 's breeding costs and not the price of the horse to buy. If you are looking for a small horse are you looking for a pony? research different breeds and find exactly what you are looking for before you start looking in ads it helps out alot! ... Hope this helps!

  2. A horse at stud is a stallion being offered for breeding.  If you see ads like this then they are advertising their stallion's services for sale, not selling the horse.

  3. That you breed it. A stud is a Stallion.

  4. basiclly a horse at stud is a horse that has been put up for breeding e.g a broodmare or a stallion that is looking to breed.

  5. You use a stallion for breeding purposes.

  6. Iam not sure what you mean, so Iam going to try for a few different explanations here.

    1.  If you have a horse standing at STUD, it means he is a stallion that outsiders can breed to.

    2.  If you have a STUD and you GELD him, it means he is being "fixed" un-usable for breeding purposes.

And if youre looking for a small horse? Are you looking for a stud then?  Ideally, a stud isnt the way to go unless you're an experienced breeder who breeds quality bloodlines.

Please clarify your questions, its a bit confusing.

  7. A Stud is a Stallion which is a male horse that is older than 5 and is not fixed. So studing a horse is breeding a mare, a female horse that is older than 5 and is not spayed, and in some rare occasions they will breed a filly to a stud. A filly is a female horse that is under 5 years old. And if you breed a mare or filly that you have with someone elses stallion then usually you have to pay for it which is called a stud fee. Or the fee that you pay in order to breed and get a mare or filly pregnant.

  8. hes a stallion he is used for breeding

  9. They use to him to mate with females

  10. A stud is like all other stallions but the only differnce is that its up for breeding

  11. you don't "stud" a horse... a stud is simply slang for stallion which is a male horse still capable of breeding a mare (a female horse at the age acceptable of breeding) a small horse would be a pony... you should check into the many different breeds to see which one would be best for you
