When you take the SAT, is it a test booklet or do you take the test on a computer?

When you take the real SAT, you take it in a test booklet and not on a computer. You are free to write in the test booklet, as in do all your scratch work and mark up the critical reading passages.

Imagine taking a 3 hr 45 min. test on a computer :D.
