Question:

When you think about something, and it comes true...?

Do you feel like you predicted it...or do you feel like you actually caused it to happen?

Is how you feel affected by whether or not the thought was a negative one?

I've heard so much about "The Secret" and "The Law of Attraction" lately...and then it started me to thinking about so-called psychics and their predictions...the ones that come true...is it possible that they cause the event rather than predict it?

I don't want this to turn into a debate about the validity of psychics, because I have been to several who have been VERY accurate and in turn, I openly allow you your skepticism, but that's not the point of my question.

  1. I think there are people who can will something to happen. This is especially true if you get a group of people to focus on the same outcome of any given, forseeable event. I guess you could say it works a little like prayer. The more people that become involved, the better the chance for the desired result...

  2. i personally dont think they cause it.. they just sense it coming.

  3. you took... the thoughts out of my head.

i am very much into this question now, but i've always been thinking about it; rarely expressed it, because of the disbelievers' kind of majority.

    but,

i made a list a few months ago - it's a three page list, lots of dashes on each line, not yet exhaustive, with things i wanted and got them, sooner or later.

that particular car, that particular friend, those women, that wife, that divorce, that apartment, that job, that this, that that...

i am a very lazy person, non-competitive, but very fixed on a particular idea, once that idea created.

i can't say i moved too many fingers in reaching my goals, but the images of the desired targets were very clear inside my head.

in the light of the documentary you've mentioned, although it does not contain new or original concepts, i'll say we entirely create our immediate world - see the buddhist concepts of 'purusha', the subjective reality.

don't know about those who 'see' things that affect the entire known world.

but i am very sure we create our own - hence the necessity of training our minds; we won't like creating the things we fear...

  4. Always remember that the outcome of any reading of tarot , mind to mind or palm can be changed. Nothing is set in stone. So the answer to your question is no not really, The secret is a great book isn't it??? I am enjoying it immensely

  5. Good question..gave you a star...because I've wondered this myself a lot. This will drive you nuts. I glanced at a lady at church one time...and then she died soon after and I wondered if I had had a premonition about it and caused her to die. I know that's really dumb and paranoid...nevertheless, it bothered me a lot. I was a part of a Charismatic group at the time and involved in spiritual things.

  6. no, thinking about something alone wont make it come true. The law of attraction is a scam to sell books.

However, if you think of things, some of them are bound to come true and validate the law of attraction.

What your missing here is all the times you think of something and it doesnt come true. When you count that in, the results are that the law of attraction is no better than doing nothing at all.

  7. I don't know, I keep thinking about winning the mega millions lottery and it hasn't happened yet!

  8. When that happens, I usually either feel it was a coincidence, or that I had enough knowledge about the situation that what I was thinking of had a good chance of occurring anyway.

  9. It's the worst of chicken and egg scenarios:

Did I curse the person because I met him and saw what he did or did I meet him because I was meant to curse him for the things he does or am I just a recipient of a lesson about justice sometimes coming to pass.

In the spirit world, time doesn't exist. There is no prediction, just seeing in to another place.

  10. i usually do think i have some power. ASt my brothers little leaugue game i thought wat if a ball came out of the park and hit me.... right at that moment dont ya no a ball came down and smacked me on the head....... just kiding it didnt hit me but it flew out of the park the moment it happened.

  11. Being a psychic, no, I don't. Cause you see, some of the information I get "psychically" is actually "whispered in my ear"  (so to speak, it's actually a telepathic communication) by my spirit guides/guardian angels.

The Law of Attraction is merely that you attract what you put out. Put out good stuff (loving, positive, peaceful thoughts and actions) and you'll get that in return. But if you're depressed and unhappy and sure the world hates you, you're going to project that outward, and you're going to attract it back to you. like attracts like.

IOW, I think these things are 2 seperate things. I can see a bit into the future, but I don't *make* it happen.
