When you use powder are you supposed to use a foundation or something as well?

I'm so confused on how to do your makeup to make it stay all day and also to look natural.

I have tried Bare Minerals and I love it! But it doesn't stay on as well as I would like it to... My friend said using foundation will help it to stay on better. I a big fan of using powder;

My question is when you use powder are you supposed to use something before it to help keep it to stay on better like tinted moisturizer or foundation or something?

Please help me out!

Thanks(:

  1. I am using both mineral powder and oil-free powder. I used base cream, concealer, then oil-free powder, blush, finally mineral powder. It lasts all day. Since I use both powder, I haven't used pressed powder at the restroom. My oil-free powder is also good one.

  2. Sometimes I use just a powder, but I've also used foundation or just moisturizer first. Think of it this way - powder is dry, so it needs something to stick to, and if your skin is dry, it won't work. Using a liquid foundation or moisturizer will give the powder something to stick to. If you want your makeup to look natural and don't need much, I'd stick to a facial moisturizer (doesn't even have to be tinted!) as opposed to foundation. Hope that helps!

  3. use moisturiser before putting on any make up as it will stop the products drying out the skin. i achieve a natural look by putting on a light layer of foundation, putting concealer on blemishes and then putting powder all over to stop a shine because that tends to happen with foundation. add bronzer on top of the powder at the cheekbones if you feel too pale or if you are going out.

    hope this helps

  4. The bare minerals is supposed to be the foundation. Are you putting moisturizer on first? Professional makeup artists say to always start with it, it makes a good base to put the makeup on. Otherwise you could try a face primer, they're available at ulta and sephora.

  5. Try using a lightweight moisturizer or foundation. It doesn't necessarily have to be tinted moisturizer, but putting something on before will help keep your powder on longer if not all day.

    Hope that helps! :)

  6. you can put on a moisturizer before hand to help it stay on more. I use it and don't put the moisturizer on before but my sister does and she thinks it stays on longer that way.

  7. the better solution is to wash cleanly with soap bcause if u apply any creams before u apply a powder and the face becomes so itching

  8. You could use a foundation also...I guess but using a foundation and a powder like bare minerals, I think would be too much!

You want your face to look somewhat natural and not have it pasted with make-up!

Try Loreal Bare Naturale...I LOVE IT! It is just like bare minerals!

IT stays on all day for me...which you can't expect any make-up to last the whole day and night!....You must have some touch ups!

I quit using foundation since I have used this!

I always use a moisturizer before I put my make-up on...so maybe that is why it may stay on me good!

Just get a oil of olay moisturizer...it is really light!

    Good Luck!

  10. you can just use a regular moisturiser under your powder. if you want more coverage, use foundation under it.
