something smells funny after i vacuum them up - i don't see their guts spilled anywhere - but might their guts be spilled over the bottom of the vacuum? or are they vacuumed up whole? they're so disgusting that i'd prefer not to pick them up individually...

  1. They are splattered on the fan blade of the vacuum.  You should smell them easily.

  2. lol-I did that too! I think the rotating brushes of the hoover cut them up but idk-if you have one of those power vacuums you can see them go in their whole! Some even come out again if where you hold the sucky extension is broken-they come out crippled.

I know it's really harsh-I try to get rid of them humanly but trying to get the spiders on a feather duster and rushing to the window to chuck them out lol!

If you have a Henry hoover, you can feel the big ones get sucked up!

  3. Some insects have defensive odors.  It depends also on the type of vacuum.  If they go through a brush they are likely to get crushed and any odors they have will spread.  They could also come in contact with hot parts of some vacuums, that will always smell. I have a canister vacuum that I use which sucks them directly into the bag.  None have ever escaped and I have no odor.
