Laminant

Wood

Tile

Carpet

Vinal

Marble

In which room, or all rooms?

We don't like vinal flooring at all, and that's what we have in our kitchen..and baths....soon to be changed. We are thinking one type flooring throughout the house. I don't think a mixture would look good? What do you think? What do you like?

  1. real wood floorbords or carpet, part from kitchen n bathroom go tile

  2. Wood or laminate in the living spaces, tile in the kitchen and bath and carpet in the bedrooms

  3. I don't recommend one type of flooring throughout the house.   I'd go with wood for the living areas with nice antique rugs...marble/ ceramic/porcelain/natural stone for the bathrooms and maybe kitchen (depending on how it's situated in the house)...and if you must have wall-to-wall carpet, only in bedrooms.  Nice, lightly colored and good quality wall-to-wall carpet in the master suite can make it feel like a hotel suite.

  4. Hello, hardwood floors have always been my favorite for a variety of reasons, ease of maintenance, re-surfacability, many natural colors, cut down on allergens, there are more but you get the idea. Also with hardwood if you later want carpet it can go in with little trouble and there will be a perfectly good floor under it. If you put any tile down the adhesives would have to be sanded off but then the floor would be perfect again. Hope this helps :-)

  5. Hard wood floors would be #1, or laminate wood floating floor

Tile in the bath and kitchen

I'm not a big fan of carpet, but it would be okay if it was in a family room or bedroom.

  6. I would do wood throughout all of the living, bedroom spaces.  The bathrooms maybe go with a tile, something very very neutral that people can match anything they want to.  Only because of the water issues.

Does the house have an open floor plan?  If so do the kitchen wood like the rest of the house, if the kitchen is kind of secluded I would do a tile in the kitchen also but only because of the water...not because I Iike tile, floors can get pretty wet in the kitchen!  My house is wood everywhere but the bathrooms which are tile.  I love my wood floors, I love being able to decorate with rugs in the different rooms, and to use rugs to create spaces in the house.  I do however, wipe down the floor in the kitchen often because the wood gets water spots on it around the sink and fridge area!

I wouldn't do carpet in the bedrooms, I LOVE my hardwood I have a dog and kids, it's SOOOO easy to clean!  Carpet, you spill a juice, or a dog has an accident, and it's there forever!

  7. marble is very expensive, but i would go for wooden above all.

its nice down stairs but carpet is more warmer and comfortable in the bedroom
