When you watch the ocean, do you feel insignificant?

This feeling of the sublime has been explored often in early 19th century literature and art. I don't know that I feel insignificant, but it's definitely an aesthetic experience to be confronted with Vastness and Power, like the ocean, or the desert, or the Himalayas. Insignificance is just an impression, or a relative experience.

So, the short answer is yes ;-) But it's an experience I seek, because it is pleasurable.

After thinking about this question I feel insignificant. lol. Thanks a lot.

When I watch the ocean, I just feel so relaxed because it is bursting with life and it's like an antique because it existed since the beginning of life. (That's a long time ago). The ocean makes me feel young and full of energy and very inexperienced in terms of life.

Not insignificant, more with amazement! I just went out to the water a few weeks ago and sat on the rocks. The wind was blowing, sun rising, beautiful colors all around, and I thought WOW what an amazing world we live in to be able to feast our eyes on a natural part of this environment.   In those times of just soaking in all that the world has to offer I find myself so motivated and inspired to dream the biggest dreams ever!
