When you wear swimming trunks do you wear underwear underneath or not?

I am not sure if you have to wear underwear underneath your underwear

No. Because they're swimming trunks. I don't buy light colored ones so I don't need to. And it can be really uncomfortable. It's just one more thing to wash.

Most swimming trunks have some sort of lining which is like underwear, but lighter. Sometimes it's mesh-like.

I have done these three:

1. wear boxer briefs - worked okay

2. none - okay, unless it's cold

3. if you've been a competitive swimmer, wear your workout suit under - I think this was the best option

I have never understood wearing underwear under swimming trunks.  That is just another layer that has to dry and weighs you down.  Freeball it.

Don't wear underwear under your swimsuit - wearing wet cotton underwear is gross!  If you must wear something, go for a brief style suit/speedo - they dry fast and give you support.

if there is mesh under your suit, no you dont need to but if you are wearing board shorts, you should wear either underwear or if you are a competive swimmer, your workout suit

Hubby and 2 sons do not wear undies at all- keep the trunks laced and free!
