Question:

When you went to Davids Bridal, did you see any dresses with sleeves?

I don't want to add sleeves to a strapless dress. I;ve seen so many of those go wrong. I dont want to add a jacket or wrap either because of extra bulk and my wedding is in July and I will be outside for part of the time. I really want a modest dress. I am self concious and when I get stressesd I get bad break outs on my upper arms and part of shoulders so I would really like those more covered, just in case. I've tried looking online but can't find anything I like. My nearest Davids Bridal is 1 1/2 hour drive but if I gotta go there, then I guess I have to. I would also be open to a white bridesmaid dress as I hate walking with a train.

  1. You might go online and search for a wedding gown with sleeves. They are rare but they're out there.

  2. You should definatley go to David's bridal. That's where I went and got my dress and it didn't even cost that much like in other stores. I got a strapless dress but there are so many that you can chose from. There are even dresses with sleeves that are really nice. You can't lose anything with looking. I even got all my stuff there that I was going to wear with my dress. I got $800 dollars. So it was really good.

  3. add sleeves with davids...they do a great job! you can barely tell it was added onto the dress. Other than that i dont know what to tell you- its hard to find dresses with sleeves

  4. If you arent in a rush wait till the winter, long sleeve will come out around then.

For the breakouts try this, it works amazing but use it every day!

make sure to get the scrub, not the regular wash!

And you can always get a dress you love and a white wrap!

  5. I am sure they do have some especially during winter.. but i love bonny.com   they have modest dresses they have a collection called unforgettable thats awesome! good luck

  6. Demitrios bridal has some in their Young Sophisticates collection.. probably others as well

  7. I went to David's Bridal looking for hair accessories and veils. At the time that I went I had already purchased my dress. I got mine with 3/4 inch lace sleeves. The dress was rather pricey - but I definitely thought it was worth it.

When we walked into David's Bridal they had a dress that was similar to mine on display. While I do think that my dress was much pretty and definitely well worth it, I was shocked to see that they had dresses with sleeves (not the detachable sleeves) because of the fact that most of the ones that I've seen online were strapless.

You can also call over to them and tell them what you are looking for. They may have a few or they may have lots of them - it depends on the time of year.

  8. Checking out stores in your area online first to see what brands they offer is a great step...Also I love your idea about a bridesmaid dress as an option...and you save lots of money this way.  One good company to search for is Alfred Angelo.  They have jackets and shawls available to match their bm dresses and almost all come in white or ivory...caution though with bridesmaids - if there is lace on the dress make sure it comes in white or ivory to match the base of your dress as well...and another good company that offers these same items is Jordan..I work in bridal and have done so for the last 7 years...so I have alot of ideas should you need help or direction...you will probably need some alterations no matter what you do, but do get yourself measured (even if you are buying on-line) at a bridal shop and then compare those to the size charts on the manufacturer sites before you purchase...and if it is a chiffon or sheer dress material and you are between sizes, do the bigger size recommended as there is usually no seam allowance in these types of dresses to be let out, taken in is always better.  Any other questions?  Let me know. I'd be glad to be of help to you.  CS  ribbonsnbowsbridalconsign@yahoo.com
