What do you have to know to go into third grade? The basic things? In math, and reading and science and all the subjects, for California what are you supposed to know?

  2. You should know how to read (short chapter books), tell time, count money, and basic add & subtract. If you can start memorizing times tables, you'll be a step ahead.

  3. Hi I teach third grade in Texas. I would start with the third grade standards for your state. That lists exactly what third graders are required to know by the time they complete grade three. I found the California state standards for third grade here:

  4. All your multiplcation, division, rounding, adding, subtracting, polygons, angles, vocabulary-K-4 begging. English and at least able to read E.b. white.

  5. Reading books about 40 pages long. Basic math like addition, subtraction, maybe mulitplication of 2's, 3's, and 4's.
