When you were a baby?

Question

I have this friend who told me that he remembers the experience of being born- Is this possible, and is there anyone else who remembers? He can't lie, he normally laughs when he tries to- He looked so serious........

that's impossible.. but now i m mother sometimes when i m with my baby i feel like i m remembering things from past when i was a baby.. weird...

While I very much doubt if a person can remember the experience of being born, I do tend to kind of agree with the answer above from Eevaya.

Also I would like to emphasize that even as I'm much older now, I still have quite clear recollections of some memories for a couple of things from my age 2-3 years, and one particular from even 1 year!

OK...This is going to make me sound like a complete weird-O....But I do believe children can remember being born and even events that occur prior to birth...The problem is that they have no communication skills yet and can not vocalize these things to us...If you ask a child who is 1-2 years of age they can tell you some absolutely amazing stories...I also believe when we come into this life we have are made to forget some memories so we can have the full experience of this journey...this time...If we could remember what "heaven" was like for example it would be too unbearable to live and experience here...We would all commit suicide or something...So YES....Even if I appear strange to most I do believe that is possible for him to remember...We are all simply vibrations and I think there are many, many things happening around us all the time we are simply not aware of because we are on a different vibrational level..ss

It is possible that he is incorrect, but it is also very possible that he beleives what he is saying. These two possibilities are not mutually exclusive.

Can't go that far back but i do remember my Mother and Father leaning over me in our house in the bed room and i remember a fire place in the bedroom and the fireburning and my Mothers long black hair.

When i became an adult i spoke to my mother about this and she said it was impossible, she could remember the bedroom and the fire and i was kept in the room with mum and dad,but she said i was only about one/two months old at the time.

This is my first memory,i am now in my 50's.

Hey wait a minute why is everyone saying it is impossible???

This is what my Psychology lecturer told us:

From the moment a brain forms, there is the beginning of awareness, however vague it is. By the time the baby is to be born, it is not vague anymore and a lot more concrete...

infact I can remember my mother when she was pregnant with my brother, and the unborn child used to "play" by raising the foot or arm to create a "bump", which she used to press to show response. And the baby would raise another bump again... I'm sure this is not random and that the baby would have had some kind of awareness...

Now, the experience of being born is something rather dramatic for the baby who has lived in complete comfort ever since he/she was formed. With hypnosis and various forms of psychoanalysis, this faded memory which lies stored deep in the unconscious can be revived, and relived.

Therefore what I'm saying is that although it is highly unlikely that your friend remembered his birth without help, it is not impossible to do so under hypnosis.

As a footnote I would like to respond to one person who said that by the time one reaches the age of 10/11 one has no recollections of toddler years (Sian P). I personally have very many recollections of my toddler years, and it is not possible that they were stimulated by photos or the sort, as they are about events of which I have no record of (i.e. no photos to show the place...and yet I can remember the place and the people).

He has a false memory.  He remembers a dream or a fantasy that he had when he was very young.

No - he's having you on.  By the time a child reaches 10/11 they have little or no recollection of the toddler years, so I doubt it very much he remembers being born.

It is possible, but rare. I don't remember the experience myself, but do have a very early memory of when I was only a few months old.

I have a cousin in her early thirties who says she remember being three, and the exact taste of the bottle of milk she was having. I laughed when she said that. I thought she must be bonkers or something.

no one can remember when they were born,but I DO REMEMBER walking in kitchen an  DRINKING some warm soda pop in a baby bottle, and remember it tasted good.
