I loved Transformers action figures.  When I was a kid the Beast Wars line was big and I got as many as I could get my hands on.  They could transform into different shapes and some of them even could be put together to make BIGGER robots.  I just got a kick out of transforming them back and forth.

I loved Legos as well.  There were a ton of really creative Lego sets when I was growing up, like Aquazone and Insectoids.  Aquazone had these epic underwater bases and submarines, and Insectoids had these alien ships with a bug theme. Oh yeah, and the Lego Mindstorms robotics stuff.  And the Technics series had some interesting non-brick vehicles and inventions.
