One that listened to you when you were talking and tried to understand?

Did talking to that uncle or aunt help you in life?

Specifically, did it help you learn how to carry on a conversation?

  1. I had three aunts and uncles that all helped me when I was growing up.  I grew up in a very tough environment including at home, in school, and in my neighborhood. But every summer I would spend a lot of time with one or more of my aunts and uncles. They also visited during the year (for example, at Christmas). They were all fabulous, took me camping, or let me work and make money on a farm, or  let me go white water boating, skating, buy ice cream, and just live a normal life..

It would be hard to pick one because all of them treated me like I was important. As far as conversation, when someone shows you constant love and affection it's easy to be open. They have all passed away and I miss them all. I was always very friendly to all of them. My last two aunts before they passed away I was able to tell them how much they meant to me growing up.  My last aunt, before she died, I was not only able to tell her how much I loved her but my cousins (her children) as well. No better feeling in the world. If you have a "favorite" aunt or uncle, please tell them now how you feel. Thanks for the question.
