turn out and what did you do to make your dream come true, or if you are not near what you wanted to be/ do when you grew up, what do you think changed your path to becoming what you are now?

I always loved the ocean even though I had never seen it growing up, and dreamed of becoming an oceanographer, I didn't make it to the ocean until I was 26 years old and when I did I loved it and always wondered what life would have been like if I would have pursued my then dream. After high school I worked in the food industry for 5 years and went to school to become a paralegal which I did and worked in that field for 2 years before realizing I didn't want to do that either, I now work as a travel agent helping other peoples dreams become reality as they travel the world and explore new places. I don't quite know when my ideals changed but I always wondered why I never pursued my passion, even though I am happy with where I am I think that I would have liked to be an oceanographer, Is it too late to start?

  1. i wanted to be bugs bunny, but i never got to be.

  2. It's never to late!! If you want to be an Oceanographer go for it!

My dream was to be a mother, and I have 3 beautiful daughters, and 3 beautiful grand daughters!! I also always liked photography and am a snap happy camera person.  I've worked all kinds of jobs, and consider myself a Jill of all trades, master of some..

My Dad said to me once, " If you want to do something, now's the time, this is no practice run Rosie, you only live once"

    Have Fun!

  3. its never too late

  4. When I was little, I dreamed of becoming a doctor. By the time I got into high school, I had another dream. In this dream, i was working at a dirt factory. It came true.

  5. I'm 15 and since the age of 8 I've wanted to be a lawyer. I have a natural knack for writing, communicating, and arguing :) and even now I'm sure it's what I want to do. Even though it is my natural dream, my parents are pleased I picked it, and a few years ago I had a fantasy about being an actress which they were totally against. I have a lot of pressure to do something big with my life, and I know my parents would not support me if I chose a job that isn't good financially or whatever. They are lucky that I want to be a lawyer, and honestly, it is my decision, not theirs.

I do have other careers in mind like a journalist, columnist, or author. My parents aren't happy about it but right now I've stopped caring. I don't for sure what I'll end up doing, though it's probably law, but I will pursue the writing thing if I can. I've learned from my father's mistakes that I have to do a job I love.

You have to do something you love for a living. My father, is an accountant and hates it, and regrets it alot. I don't want to end up doing that and I don't think you should either.

Nothing is too late to start, follow your dream, and don't give up.

  6. I had dreams, then I grew up.  Most of what I was told in my childhood turned out to be a lie.  Hard work in the USA doesn't mean anything unless you are very attractive.  Especially for a woman.

  7. I wanted to be a lot of things when I was younger. I remember I wanted to be a doctor and a missionary at one point. It is kind of funny looking back on those ambitions considering now I want nothing to do with religion. I wanted to be a pilot for a while and I still think about it often. I was just looking at flying lesson the other day. It is never to late to pursue something you want.

My longest running one is definitely to be a writer. I write on occasion but sometimes it is hard to sit down at the computer after spending eight hours at work at my desk writing code. I still write on occasion and I think it could one day really become something worth publishing.

It is just really funny where life takes you. It almost feel like it is all randomness and chance.

  8. I had this doll & put her in the sink & preteneded it was a pool. When I was about 30 years old I bought a house with a built in pool...I liked to play school & have always been a person who liked helping people learn. I was also a very intuitive person & had great mystical experiences throughout my life. I wanted to travel & still do & I wanted to be a nurse when the Vietnam war was going on but I didn't become any of those things because I helped other people...Now, I like working on the phone so I am a life coach. So I teach, I take care of like a nurse, I am free to travel....I would suggest you really find out if it is too late by getting career info. from the public library unless you can do this on-line by yourself....do research. I love going research because one thing leads to another. You just start & keep going. If you find people doing this work write them & ask about their career & what they think of someone your age starting out. Then find out what you would need to get the job you want, would you have to move, what are the prospects, get as much info. as you can & keep uncovering questions so you can get them answered. Once you have the facts you will answer your question. If you answer is that it is too, late, then ask yourself what it was that you really wanted. Get to the essence. Do you love the atomosphere? Keep asking yourself questions so you can find something you can do that will fullfil what you want.

  9. I wanted to be a comedian, though that didint work out, so then I would mix chemicals around the house....Now I want to do something in science...Right now I am studying microbiology.  :D YAY!

  10. You are lucky for that nice career congratulations.

I guess i cant give any good advice since im just 17 years old, what do i know lol. Anyway personally i think it is never too late to pursue someone's passion, yet someone who likes to do it must understand that he should start all over again. And it would be pretty hard of he's not inspired well.

When I was a kid I wanted to be a musician and i think i appreciate a lot of musical genres. I learned to play guitar and piano, and thought it could be a career for me. But I realized that being a musician doesnt take just practice and hardwork, it takes talent. So if i have to be one, i have to be really really good or else its no career at all. I realized that music would just be a part of my hobby.

    Good luck.
