When you were pregnant with 2nd, child was your first child kind of distant??

This may seem silly but my son doesnt seem to want to hang out with me anymore. I am 12 weeks 3 days pregnant and he is 6 yrs old on Saturday. I know its summer and he he likes to hang out with grandma and grandpa but I feel like he doesn't want to be my buddy anymore. Is it common? Am I over reacting? He asks to stay the night with my mom at least once a week and they love to have him there and it makes one evening/ morning easier but he and I have always been super close, I feel like he doesn't want to hang out with me. Am I being silly?? Is it normal to want to stay away from home at his age and maybe has nothing to do with the pregnancy?

Mine was not but she was only 2 when her sister was born. My kids are 7 and 9 and my oldest would live at her grandparents if I let her LOL My youngest loves being there as well but she is a major home body, she LOVES being at home with mommy.

I think he just wants to be with his grandparents and you are just a little emotional because of the pregnancy.

He may not miss you at the moment but he would miss you, you are his mom. And grandparents tend to let kids have anything they want, I know my kids feel a freedom at their grandparents, they also have a pool. If you dont want him to stay again just make a 1 night rule then he has to come home.

No your not I felt the same way when I got pregnant with my 2nd. My daughter told me everyday she didnt want a baby. She was fine when I was pregnant with the youngest. Then again my 6yr old step son hates being at home as well. Coldn't tell you why. He just unhappy if he has to stay home with me for more then 3 days.
