I just started windsurfing and I'm practicing in low wind conditions and whenever i put my feet in the straps the back of the board sinks a little and i usually end up falling. I know in high wind they have to be but i was wondering if u still put your feet in the foot straps in low wind.

  1. on low wind you dont have to use the footstraps. the footstraps are for advanced people. I am a beginner too i and i have same problem.

  2. I don't use the straps till I'm really moving and the board starts to hop on the waves a bit. Otherwise I adjust without to prevent exactly what you described. It is the same thing when regular surfing as well with foot placement just a few inches can make or break you. Sounds as though you are on the right track. Adjust as necessary
