  1. yes...but it's a complete mystery as to why.

  2. no, just uses the battery power.

  3. It takes about 5hp away everytime the compressor kicks in,they say it uses less gas then to roll the windows down, but yes it does use a little more gas.

  4. Yes, AC cause additional drag on engine, however it is a catch 22 because rolling windows down cause a reduction in aerodynamics of the car.

I live in Texas, hard to imagine not using AC in an attempt to save gas during the summer if you have a working AC that is.

  5. Yes it does, you are running a compressor motor.

  6. in some ways yes

but either way if your windows are down you lose gas cause there no aerodynamic

if you have a/c more gas cause your making the engine work more so best bet is no a/c and windows up lol

  7. yes, because the A/C compressor runs off of the engine, requiring more engine power to maintain the same speed

  8. absolutely!!!! 10 to 40 % power robbed! like turning a 4.0 liter motor into a 3.5 liter power wise. the A/C fuel loss is lessened on long non stop drives with all windows closed. City driving it takes its toll milage wise.

  9. yes
