When your a parent will you....?

will you spank your kids? I know some people see at as way to get to their kids efficiently, others think its unnecessary, i'm just curious to know what people think of the old fashioned discipline tactic

I am a parent and have never spanked my kids. That is just plain power tripping and somehow perverted. I have however hit them back (with appropriate force) the one time they tried to hit me out of anger. They never tried that again!

i am a parent, i dont spank my kids... i have swatted a f***y with my hand, but nothing to Hurt them...spanking is abusive

I am a parent, and yes, I spank my kids if they misbehave.

They're teenagers now, so it's not that often, but they will still get spankings if I think they need it.

I'm a parent of two and I have only swatted, I don't say spanked because it was just a tap on the butt or a tap on the hand.

First time was when my oldest ran out into a parking lot, he let go of my hand so I swatted his butt, he didn't even cry and I told him never to do it again.

Second was when my youngest tried to put a quarter in an outlet. I smacked his hand and told him "No" we don't do that.

no im not going to spank them, cause what do they learn from that? they learn that doing a lot of stuff will wind up with them getting hit. that doesnt teach them WHY what they did was wrong at all! im going to explain to them (even if theyre young, i'll just explain in simple words) why what they did was wrong and why they shouldnt do it again. if they understand theyre more likely to change than if you hit them and they go to bed with a sore behind.
