  1. well... first you have to spell MARINE right or you wont get very far.

  2. After your 4 years is up, you'll be reserves. That means when the Corps needs you, they will call. And why do you keep spelling Marine wrong? You've made the same mistake twice.

  3. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

  4. When you are through with active duty, we are now in the Individual Readiness Reserve (IRR), that is if you haven't been affect by the "stop-loss".  If there is a need for your service, determining on your MOS  (can't expect a grunt to do admin work), they will definitely be calling you right back to active duty.  Remember though, 'Once a Marine, Always a Marine".  We are Marines for life!

  5. all contracts whether active duty or reserves are for a length of 8 years. usually the standard is 4 active 6 reserve. i've heard as low as 2 years active and some up to 6 depending on the mos(military occupational specialty aka-your job). reserves are kind of stiff as to go below the 6 year mark but if they are short staffed and you are a hot **** prospect(or just smarter than your recruiter) you can lower it to a 4 year stint in the reserves. smarter than your recruiter only requires you to say something to the effect of "i won't join unless i get a 3 year contract". now the remaining years(you did 4 active, you have 4 left or 6 reserves, you have 2 left) will be spent in what is known as the irr (inactive ready reserve). at this point you are a civilian. you can have long hair, smoke drugs, and live where ever you please. you may however be called back to duty if there is a major conflict ie. the dirty germans pull some $hit and want to go for round 3. but in the absence of another world war you will probably just go back to being a nasty, grabasstic piece of civilian sh...well, you know.

  6. What?

  7. You go home after your four years active duty and then they can call you back if they need you on your 4 years in active.
