  1. Yes, please do! I'm a waitress and I used to work as a cook, and most cooks would rather have their customers happy than give them bad food! However if it's something that's not fixable, don't bother, that's a hassle (like if it's overdone).

However, if when you were ordering you didn't specify how you wanted it done, then you really have no right sending it back. Only if you said mild and they made it burning hot, or you said well done and they made it very rare, or if you said extra broccoli and they gave you none, etc....

Also that's a lie about chefs doing stuff to the food...we would be fired if we did that, and a kitchen is very, very busy, nobody would get away with spitting in it or anything, someone else would see you. A lot of kitchens have cameras in them too, and usually whoever's in charge is probably not the one making your food, so everyone working underneath him/her probably isn't doing illegal/unsanitary things around the boss.

  2. at those prices it better be right - I send it back

  3. Yes!  Why should you pay something your not satisfied with!!!  Specially at a 4-5 star restaurant.  They are supposed to cater to you!!

  4. Of course, I'm paying good $$ for it I want it done right.

  5. If it is way over or way undercooked, yes. In a chain restaurant, the quality is not likely to improve the 2nd time around

  6. You are the customer. If it isn't done right or is not the proper order, either send it back or tell them that you've changed your mind and are not paying for it because of whatever reason. If it is a good reason you will not be asked to pay for it. Careful of the "sneezer" if you send it back for re-cook.

  7. If you're going to send food back do not ask to speak to the manager as someone else suggested...all you're doing is aggravating the restaurant's workers by going over their heads...simply politely tell the waiter/waitress/bartender "I am so sorry, but this wasn't quite what I ordered, would you mind fixing it...thank you so much"  This will get you a much better result that being the prick who asks to speak with the manager...when you do that you sound like a complete @ss!  So, yes, if you must...send it back, but by following the proper procedure.

  8. send it baq

  9. 99% of the time the cooks will just refire your order.  I have never seen a cook "do something" to the food.  Someone who does that can get the restaurant shut down.  if you send your plate back, and you get it and you have a question, or if you find hair or other foreign matter, have the manager look at it.  if you were to find spit or a loogie floating on your mashed potatoes, call the health department.  Always go to a restaurant with someone else for those reasons.

  10. Yes, I'm spending my money so I want it cooked a way I can eat it.

  11. Send it back and ask for something else.

  12. id risk it if the food was over $20. if not, suck it up.

    watch the movie "Waiting".

    You'll never eat out again.

  13. If the food is not cooked to your desire, ask to speak to the manager. Explain what the problem is, in a calm and polite manner, and ask if he/she can help you. It shouldn't matter whether you're in five-star restaurant or a hole-in-the-wall. Every smart restauranteur understands that happy customers are repeat customers.

If you're worried about someone messing with your food, that's not a good restaurant to be in anyway.
