  1. Share them of course

  2. Wow, an actual etiquette question!  Lol. :)  And how nice for a house-guest to bring you something.

I would definitely share them with the guest -- and the household -- during their stay, perhaps after dinner or if you're sitting around the couch talking or watching a movie.  It's nice to acknowledge their gift when they can see everyone enjoy them.

  3. If they are houseguests they are obviously staying the night...so to open the chocolates at night after dinner....and with a pre-bed hot drink would be great.

  4. You can share chocolates with them after the meal or when you serve them coffee.

  5. When I go to people and take them a box of chocolate I mean them for ''them'' but out of politeness, they offer something to drink and open the box.. and hum and haw about how good they taste and hand them around.... it's polite to do that.. I only take one .. because I mean them for the family to enjoy'' but as they know their manners I accept one.. at least then I can see if what i bought really is good or if they are just kind and say so...I would not get cheap chocolates...

  6. This does come down to etiquette. So therefore this is entirely up to you.Either way is quite within the bounds of  etiquette

  7. SHARE or you'll look greedy, tight-fisted and ungrateful.

  8. Depends on whether I like them or not!

    JK.

I usually put them aside for a later day, I have children so they don't last long.

  9. The guests will almost certainly be expecting you to open them and share. To do otherwise would be very rude.
