When your on the phone and someone else talks to you...

(in person) can you manage to talk to both people..or you can't concentrate and you tell one person "hold on".

Ohhhhh my God, mom always does this its like h**l, she says "pssss tell him/her so n so n so...did u tell? have u gone" and i keep on waving to her to stop talking then i say "Estany ya mamaaaaaaaaaaa".

I get pissed off mostly, the other person who's talking to me (not the one over the phone) can see I'm on the phone so there is no reason why I'm Miss Popular all of the sudden and everyone wants to talk to me.

proper etiquette is to tell the "in person" one to hold on as they were the rude one in the first place. they can see you are talking to someone else.

I haaaaateeee that, i can never concentrate. NEVER. i even forget what i'm saying! but i always tell the one who's corrubting the phone call - usually my mom - to stop talking till i hear what the person on the phone is saying and when he's done she can say whatever she wants, even better, she can take the phone and tell him/her what she wants in person.

It depends, mooney.  If I am talking on the phone to somebody about something and then like my mother comes and talks to me about something totally different, then I have to tell the person on the phone to hold on so that my mother can tell me what she wants to say.  

I don't like when this happens, by the way.

its an additional option from the operator you can ask your network (mobinil,vodafon or etisalat) about it,

its name is confranse and its with monthly charge (i think 10 or 15 pounds) and then you can talk with max 8 persons in the same time

Hi Iman, either i've missed the point of the question or others here have. well this is my answer to how I read the question:

If it is not an urgent situation then i get angry about this. If a person can see i am on the phone & talks to me at the same time I tell them to be quiet, it is just bad manners on their part.

Do confess to talking on the phone in the office & listening in on someone elses convo, bet there are not many people that haven't, thats if they tell the truth. I think it is something we all do at 1 point or another, especially if we hear something interesting!!   Come on folks own up! LOL

When something like that happens but it rarely happens to me...

I say to the one talking to me not that one on the phone "Hey Nigee Don't u see me on the phone....shut the **** up now till i get finito"...Especially i do so when that one who talks to me i don't feel good towards him or her.....

Plus i can do both ....but so as to avoid mix-ups and misunderstanding things....Better to talk to each Separtely..
