  1. take a step back, bend your knees then decide whether to bump or set it ...depending on how high the ball is at that time.

  2. Just set it up. I know it's a little lower, but that's usually what I do. Just take a quick step back and set it over the net, or to someone near you. Cause idk where you play

  3. hit it with ur head. or just put ur hand in front of your face like your gonna set it

  4. if it's a serve, whatever you do, DON'T set it. if you have time to shuffle back, or back pedal to bump it, that's my best answer. if not, do the tomahawk. it's where you cup both your hands together but leave a space big enough for a fist in the middle, and hit the ball in the center. if you hear a hollow pop as you hit it, that means it was a good tomahawk. don't forget to use your legs as well. good luck in volleyball!

  5. Header it with your forehead

  6. either get under it and set it or back up a little and bump it

  7. drop your body and set it, or back up and pass it

  8. I guess you could bump it by backing up a bit if you're in the back and setting if you're in the front....

    ah...never really played volleyball, sorry.

  9. You want to position yourself right underneath the ball. It may sound a bit complicated, but really once you begin to play it's rather easy. If the ball is low, you want to get lower and bend your knees more to get underneath the ball. You just want to remember that. The ball isn't always going to come at your nose or mouth - it's just going to come.

  10. Ha ha, no you're not supposed to catch it. ; )

    You have four choices.

    1. Step back and bump it. This is the best thing you can do. However, this takes a little more time and might not hit right.

    2. Get lower and set it. This is the second best option, drop down as low as you need and set the ball. However, don't do this if it's a serve, you'll hurt yourself.

    3. Tomahawk. Okay, this is a pretty good option, but usually people don't do it. Ask your coach to show you how to do this if you don't know. For this, always remember to tilt your hand up so the ball goes up and not straight across or down.

    4. Step aside and call it for someone else. Depending on if you're back row or front, you can risk it and let someone else get it. Do this quickly since you need the person behind you to know that they're responsible for it. Call "yours" or whatever you need to let the person know. For the most part, only do this if you have no other options.

If none of these work, catch it or do whatever. It's volleyball, you can hit it anyway you want. And you CAN head it, though that may hurt. Who knows, you may get good at it! Don't let yourself get hurt though!

  11. just set it or if you are in front step aside and yell "over" and let the person behind you get it

  12. moving back a little and then hitting it.

thats what i do. or setting it, same thing, just your hands are closer to your face.

  13. duck & set

    or move back & bump.

    duh.

  14. place your hands together like you're in a kid in a 1960s movie who's praying before bed, with your palms and your fingertips touching, but with a little bit of space between your palms.  bend your arms and raise your arms to however high you need to make contact with the ball, keeping your hands so that your fingers are pointing towards the sky, angle your hands to give the ball some upward motion to get it either to a team mate to bump, or over the net.

  15. if it's a serve, just get both hands on the ball and chuck it (not literally). no one cares how much spin is on the ball, as long as you don't lift. if its a downball or hard hit attack, just stick your hands up there, it's really all you can do.
