Whenever I make eggs my Cockatiel sings to the egg and gets upset if I crack it. Does he recognize eggs?

Whenever I make eggs my Cockatiel loves to sing and chirp to the egg. He gets upset when I crack it. Do you think that he recognizes that is an egg?

was he every a breeding bird or was in avian flight cage with a pair? He might think it is his egg and that your killing it so he tries to protect it and get back at you for killing it. Or he might see it as that is HIS food that you cracking and ruining. If it really makes him scream or get mad don't let him see or be around when you make eggs. Good luck =)

He is probably thinking thats the largest egg he ever saw - He might recognize it I mean eggs are an essential part of a birds life.
