2. You don't say whether the system fails to boot properly not not. But, basically a file has become corrupted. Either re-install the file from the disk on which it came (Nvidia driver?) or download it from another site to a bootable disk and install from there.

If the system still won't boot, you may need to repair or reinstall windows. Put your Windows OS CD in the CDROM drawer and boot up to it. It will run the Windows Setup. Watch carefully for the REPAIR command. If you have never done this before it is best to find a couple of sites on the net to read up on it.

The windows repair will install a generic driver for the hardware in question and allow you to boot up to the Operating System and make needed changes. from there.

  6. Ignore the above - too many amateurs trying to answer technical questions.

'NvCpl.dll' is part of the NVidia driver package (specifically, the NVidia Control Panel - hence 'nvcpl'). You have an NVidia graphics chip, and it's not working properly.

First thing to do is try upgrading your drivers - freely available from NVidia's site (or if it's on-board graphics, better try your motherboard manufacturer first).

  7. It just means its unable to run at start-up, enter msconfig into the run commans and untick nivada
