Whenever I try to install Sims 2, installation stops whenever disc two is inserted?

I bought Sims 2 a couple years ago and since then I've never been able to play it because I can't fully install it on my computer. I can play it on the people that I've previously installed it on. I don't know why this happens, but when I try to install it, the first disc installs smoothly, but when it's finished, I put the second disc into my modem, and it just stops. Why doesn't it finish? I'm sure my computer meets the requirements. The first sims works fine.

  1. I have the exact same issue!!! It tells me to insert Disc 2 and I do, and it just never picks up!!! Sucks!

Hey I just figured it out. Do the whole thing that the booklet says. you know, stop all the background tasks.

the thing that says do the ctrl+alt+delete and go to processes tab. and click on user name, (thatll sort the list by user name) DO NOT SELECT ANYTHING FROM SYSTEM, LOCAL SERVICE OR NETWORK SERVICE GROUP. ALSO, DO NOT STOP EXPLORER.EXE OR TASKMGR.EXE

turning everything off then pop the cd in and itll work. It finally let me install all of them (i have them all up until the apartment one that comes out next week)

hope this solves yourproblem. it did for me
