Everything worked OK until a few weeks ago. Now I can't add or edit modules. I always get the Javascript: void(0) error in the lower left hand corner of my screen. I do get a "loading" message on some to my modules when I attempt to edit, but that message never goes away and no data gets displayed.

  1. I have the same problem and am guessing lots more of us do. I contacted yahoo through the myYahoo help section http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/my/gene... maybe anyone else who has the same problem can do the same, then they may have a better idea of what is wrong.

    Hello Paul,

Thank you for writing to My Yahoo!.

We understand that the menus and links in the new My Yahoo! are not working for you.

The error message you are receiving indicates there is an application on your system blocking the scripts that enable these items to function.

Unfortunately it is not possible for us to determine which application you may have, as there are many different software packages that perform this function. You will need to look for some form of anti-virus, web 'assisting' software such as toolbars or firewall packages that block pop-ups. The only way to diagnose and resolve this issue is to disable them one at a time to determine which one is responsible for the issue

    you're experiencing.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. If you have any additional questions please contact us again.

Thank you again for contacting My Yahoo!.

    Regards,

    Kalis

  2. I am having the same problem. Also, I have searched all over the Yahoo Help site and there is no real consistent fix. What I do know is the Javascript:void(0) is a place holder within the java code associated with that particular button. Its primary function is to suppress an "accidental" launch of the item. However some browsers (and this is inconsistent) appear to get confused by this an pass the null value instead of the "click" - since so many of the my Yahoo modules have this embedded javascript:void(0) holder it renders most of the page inactive.

The simplest "fix" is to use another browser, IE7 appears to work most of the time, with Opera being the worst. Netscape and Firefox are in the middle.

There are some step-by-step "fixes" here, however most are browser specific, and don't always work even if you have that browser.

I have Firefox 2 installed on two machines at home and in only one I have the javascript:void(0) problem. This makes it appear like it is a "Settings" problem but apart from a full reinstall I have not been able to find a fix here or by myself.

If only they did not embed that java code in the page, things might work better. You will note that even in browsers that are working the javascript:void(0) appears as the button value when you pause over it. Just some understand what to do after you click.
