Question:

Whenever I wake up, my eyes are always bloodshot in the morning, and sometimes stay bloodshot all day! Help!?

Usually I'm on the computer at least 3 hours a day, and go to bed at around 1:00. I always get around 8 and a half hours of sleep though. Also, I wear the type of contacts that you have to put in every day, but they last for a month.

So, how do I stop the bloodshot looking eyes? Sometimes I use eyedrops, but they don't seem to help much. Can someone suggest a great brand of eyedrops or something?

Also, I'd appreciate it if suggestions like "Don't use the computer as much" and "go to bed earlier" weren't used, because that isn't possible for my predicament.

Thanks!!!

  1. You already answer your question. My suggestion is go to the eye doctor, he is the one that will give you the best eye drops for your condition. don't use those drops that are sold over the counter. Get well ....

  2. It may be your contacts. What type of contact solution do you use? Make sure your contact case is clean each day. Do not reuse contact solution. You may be using one that says no rub solution, but do it anyway. I've found that these aren't as reliable as they claim.

If this does not help, you may need to see your eye doctor. These contacts may not be working very well for you. Even if they have in the past, your body changes pretty quickly when it wants to.

You may need a different size, curve, etc for the contact. It could even be that you keep them for a month. This type may not work for your eyes.

Some people have a problem with tear production. Your eyes may not be lubricating themselves properly.

When you use eye drops does it help? Even if only for a short time?

Are you able to take a break from the contacts for a few days to see if there is a difference. If you have glasses, try wearing them a few days and see if it helps.

If this is no help, really the only thing to do is see the eye doctor. Take your eyes seriously, they are very important! ;)

    Good luck!
