  1. Thats not true!!! He just doent want you topause it!!!

  2. what kind of TV? If its a plasma then look here

    http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasm...

  3. most tvs will make the picture much smaller after say 2 minutes and the picture will fade in and fade out in different areas of the screen. If your does not do this, I wouldnt worry too much, burn in happens mostly when people play video games where there is, say a life meter at the top of the screen that is there throughout the length of time you play the game which could be hours a day for weeks. I would say as long as its not on pause for an extended period of time like 10 hours you should be fine, also many tvs now have burn in protection.

  4. if you have a plasma tv yes this is possible. but not usually unless you are watching the same image over and over again on a daily basis. it used to be a bigger problem a few yrs ago, but they have worked on a lot of the issues concerning screen image retention. go to this website: http://www.axisnova.com/articles/plasma-... and then google some more information on tv screen burn-in... you'll what images cause the most risks of burn-in. Take care, but dont worry too much about pausing your tivo every once in while... it shouldn't cause any problems... pause on!

  5. The image could become burned in on the screen under two conditions:

    1. Your TV was made about 15 ago before improved technology prevented burn-in.

    2. You leave your TIVO paused on the exact same picture for more than 10 hours.

TIVO only tends to pause about 30 minutes, so there is little or no danger of pause burn-in.

If by chance you DO meet both of these conditions, shut off the TV while you are away. TIVO will continue recording, and maintain its paused position.

People who play long video game marathons (over 8 hours of a non-changing background) are most likely to experience burn-in. It can also happen with the logo images at the bottom of the screen on some channels. It is best to let the TV rest after about 8 hours, or at least change to a different image.

But TIVO's pause? No, not a problem.

  6. Make sure your Tivo's screen saver is ON. Set it to about 5 min and you have nothing to worry.
