Whenever i speak latin, people laugh at me. Why is that?

I learned a little bit of Latin in school but i never used it.

Hey no one uses the Latin language anymore except the Vatican. Are you referring to the romance languages?

Well, it's an old language, and it's not used that often. So it's probly just because it's not that common. There's nothing wrong with it, esp. since so many words are from latin origin.

I don't know.  Some possibilities:

they think you are being pretentious;

they don't understand Latin and think it sounds funny;

they weren't expecting Latin and laugh out of surprise;

they understand Latin and realize you speak it poorly; or

they understand Latin and think what you said (regardless of language) is funny or incorrect.
