Whenever i try to install something from the internet and open it it always says "error launching installer"

help! how do i fix it? i'm trying to download something to clean out all the junk i have on my laptop.

I had that when my old computer was starting to die.

If you are trying to clean out the junk on your laptop, you would be better off burning all important information to disk and doing a clean install of your OS.

You can't get much cleaner then that!

I can't believe how much better my computer is now that I did a fresh install of Windows XP.

Yeah, it was annoying having to make sure I had all my disks on hand and all my install files saved on my external and having to DL and Install all the updates and security patches for all my many, many programs but it was worth it because before I reinstalled, I had to get a friend of mine to Download ALL install files and updates FOR ME and then file transfer them to me through AIM or email them to me because ALL downloads, .exe, .zip, .rar, etc. all came up corrupted and I got the same error message you get.

Now that I reinstalled everything, I don't get that anymore.

Save yourself the months of BULLSHIT and headaches that I had and just do a fresh install now...

It will save you tons of time and frustration.
