This has been happening to me for about 2 weeks now and I do have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. When it happens to me it is within the first 20 to 30 minutes after I have shut my eyes. Also, I don't snore so I don't think it would be sleep apnea. Very scary.

  1. you can still have sleep apnea even if you dont snore, are you sure you dont snore?  and you shouldent be scared because its not like your gonna die, ive had it for  almost 3 years and i dont even use the machine and im fine

  2. no

i use to wake up choking though. it was like i went to sleep and someone was watching and waiting and they'd put a little round silver metal washer like the kind that goes with bolt and nut or sometimes it would be a metal silver nut and they would put in my cheek between where my teeth and inner cheek are & sometimes it was a penny. anyway after falling asleep it would fall down my windpipe and i'd wake up gasping for air. i'd jump up out of bed choking. then it would come to me that it was not physically there & i could breath again.

    does not happen anymore though.

  3. I think it IS sleep apnea....The only problem is that you aren't getting enough oxygen. Your body won't just let you suffocate to death though so don't worry too much.

    good luck anyways ;)
