  1. yes when it disturbs ones privacy  or invades a persons mental state.

  2. Aggressive, yes.  Boom boom bass invading my space is never welcome

  3. I had a neighbor in college who played music with so much bass that it would literally shake everything in our apartment.  Sometimes he would do it at like 3:00 in the morning and it would be very annoying (not to the point of wanting to physically kill anybody!!), especially when I would have to stay up late studying.

We thought about just talking to our apartment manager but we decided to do the neighborly thing and just ask him to stop.  We let him come over to see how bad it shook our apartment and he'd had no idea it was that bad.  He said he would try to remember to keep it down but told us that if he forgot (which he did a lot) to just knock on the wall and he would turn it down.  We felt a lot better afterward for talking to him about it, and we kind of became friends with him.

If you ask your neighbor to turn it down and he (or she, I guess) starts being a jerk about it then you can call the manager if you are in an apt or you can call the police with a noise complaint.  I do suggest just nicely asking the person first.

  4. Not killing, but wanting to break their stereo/speakers/what have you. I tend to sometimes politely ask them to turn it down or if it's at night, yell for them to turn it down. Or, if it's persistent and they refuse to acknowledge that there are at least a couple dozen other people who are disturbed by their music, you can call the cops depending on the time they have it legally listed for their noise disturbances.

  5. If it's bad music than yes but if it's good I'll just start dancing along.
