  1. There are lots of festivals organised during the summer as this is the high season. But I would advise spring as it is less crouded and the weather is still nice.


  2. As for the lavender festivals, it's a short period in the year, roughly from mid-June through the mid-July. The best area fro that, in Provence, is the Lubéron area. You'll see it's magnificent.

    Unfortunately, festivals for wine, lavender and olive oil are not held at the same time (because of the crop). You have to make up your mind which one you are interested most.

    If you are interested in meeting the crowd, then it's better to go in July and August. But it's hot, overcrowded and expensive. September (wine), June and May should be fine; June should be the best compromise (it's not hot yet, rains stop falling, the sun is high in the sky, days are longer, accomodation are not too much expensive)
