Whens the best time to hold a fantasy football draft?

I made a league for me + friends, when should I hold the draft, roughly?

Its best to have the draft in the later part of August.  If you have one earlier, someone is bound to get hurt in pre-season and you might get screwed.  I have been in drafts as early as the 1st week and August and nobody got screwed.  The later the better IMO.

Probably after the third pre-season game.  This game is a "dress rehearsal" for the regular season.

However, you may want to do a few practice drafts before you draft with your buddies, so you can get an idea where you might want to draft certain players.

The best time to hold a fantasy football draft is about 7 days (1 week) before the start of the season in my opinion.

I'd say hold the draft sometime in the middle of Preseason, usually after the 2nd week..  This gives the owners some time to make quick trades in the league and account for any lingering injuries to players on their roster.

I like "Pre Pre-Season", but that's me.  Mid-Preseason is fine as well, but a date like July 31st works great for me.
