  1. Normally from  June until November 30. (but like global weather is changing it can more or less in the period)

September is consider the months of every major hurricane.

You can check the link below if you interest it.

However Dominican Republic don't get hurricane so often neither. but like mention earlier (global weather changes) never knows. Also It is very rarely that a hurricane hit the entire island, some places are more vulnerable than others.

So when hurricane season start just keep checking every know and then for update news.

    good luck!!

  2. Officially it runs June 1st to November 30th however that certainly doesn't mean you will even sniff a hurricane.  Check the sites below for more information.  Underground weather will give you the weather in past years.

  3. Hi Nikki!,

If you go to the north coast (Puerto Plata) in september no problems with hurricanes. In 13 years living here never had a problem with them here. In Punta Cana and Santo Domingo

sometimes they had problems with them. Enjoy your vacations.

  4. September is Hurricane season.  However if you are traveling to the North Coast we have NEVER been hit by a hurricane since they have been tracking them so you may only get rain if there is a Hurricane passing by.

  5. Officially the hurricane season is from June to the end of October, but this year it started in May and continued until November.  There is a risk of hurricanes in September, but nobody can possibly predict whether or not there will be one when you are in the DR and if there is, you will be well taken care of.
