  1. The Toyota Prius is the best selling hybrid car, accounting for about 1/2 of all hybrid sales in the US.  It was the first commercially-available hybrid car available (first on sale in Japan in 1997), and was designed as a hybrid from the ground up (as opposed to most current hybrid designs which is a standard gasoline model with a hybrid drivetrain added in).  The Prius is consistently rated by Consumer Reports and Edmunds' best new and used car lists, high in reliability, and also in Edmunds' lowest cost of ownership awards for its market class.

  2. i believe a hybrid Chevy Tahoe is being produced, as well as a hybrid Honda Civic. The hybrid market will probably not rise a significant amount immediately b/c the increased cost and reduced hp. Until gas prices rise further or hybrid prices drop, the increased price will most likely keep people buying 4 cyl cars instead of hybrids. Also, younger people will tend to stay away from them due to the decreased power and increased weight, which make for very poor and unresponsive driving for anyone who enjoys it

  3. Steal what show. It's a piece of junk. No matter what the cost of gas goes up to I will never have one.
