Where's Pudge Rodriguez gonna fit in the Yankee lineup next year?

I'm a Yankee fan, and I know the reason why Cashman got Pudge was to replace injuired Jorge Posada got season ending surgery. I'm aware that its too early to be thinking about next season, but...i was curious when Posada returns healthy next year, are the Yanks gonna keep Posada or Pudge? They can't keep em both when they're both healthy, and they are both in their late 30's. So who we keepin?

Pudge is a free agent next yr,as is Farnsworth,,CC Sabathia, And Manny,,So time will tell as what pudge does next yr.

yep a back up. everybody wants to retire in the pinstripes. i don't know posada had a great year last year, but i think pudge is a better all around consistent player. they are both way past their prime

i don't know im a red sox fan but no matter where they put him hes gunna be deadly i think he should be the starter over posada

Pudge will only be a Yankee for the remainder of this season. Posada is signed for two more years at 15 mil per season. The Yankees will let Pudge walk and get two draft picks for him.

Pudge will probably not resign with the Yankees. He probably wants to be a starter not a backup. And if the Yankees don't resign him and Pudge declines arbitration, they might get a extra first round compensation pick in next year's draft that can turn out to be a star.

Posada is signed for another 3 years and Pudge is a free agent.  If Posada recovers from the surgery and shows that he can still catch, the Yankees will not try to re-sign Pudge.  He will command too much money to be a backup catcher.

The reason the yanks got him was he was a good player AND his contract expires this year so they will let him leave as a free agent

posada has to play catcher next year because he signed a big deal in the offseason. pudge is gonna go elsewhere where he'll get some playing time. there are very few proven catchers that can hit like rodriguez.
