I've got advanced general computer skills but I want to learn how to use Excel, Access and maybe some other programs that I'm not familiar with.

  1. If you just want something cheap but good, go to the TDSB website (Toronto School Board.) You get about nine weeks of class for about $114 and the teachers are usually really good. I find the official Microsoft courses severly over-priced.

  2. There are  a number of programs - if you are a medium or small business then you may be able to get help via a goverment of Canada program that trains businesses in MS software application skills - via the (FSWEP) partner program. If you are a student then you can get training to train people for this program.

Taking Microsoft Offfice Specialist courses offered at some highschools may also be available check with local night school places in your area they may run a MOS program broken up into three courses MOS1 MOS2 and MOS3 I think excel is included but I could be mistaken..

otherwise I suggest reading some books..

tons of pages just try google ebooks galore

here is one example - if you are looking for "certification"

taking the certification will probably cost you close to $400+  though...
