Where's a good place to camp near aberdeen (scotland)?

Question

we are prepared to travel up to 70 miles(ish) from the city but not really that interested in going to a campsite .

we would like to be near a river if possible and have an adequate supply of wood for fire.

bit of a longshot but i was hoping someone would know.

p.s. we were perhaps thinkng of braemar/ballater/deeside direction but would appreciate ANY advice and recommendations at all.

check out the moors of Dinnet,   another option is Glen Mick or Glen Girnoc
