  1. Two years ago me and the wife when to this Thai resort in Chantaburi it was far from the Gulf in a wooded mountainous area.  It is called Suanrimtarn Resort (web site below). A nice place to get away from the city.

  2. Nowhere.  All the good areas are known.

    Bangkok

    Phuket

    Pattaya

    Chiang Mai

There you have it, but those are known.

  3. Just came back from Bangsaen, I think it's a great beach area to go to. It's very popular with Thais driving down from Bangkok on weekends, but during the week is very quiet and relaxing with great seafood and other restaurants without farang prices. It's a huge palm tree lined beach with very few foreign tourists plus it's only an hour outside of Bangkok. Also got a great mid-week low-season rate at the Tide Resort there, which is a very nice resort hotel right across the street from the beach.

  4. Bangsaen to me, the last time I visited there, was the dirtiest beach I have ever seen in the whole world. The beach and the water littered with plastic trash.

I like to go up into Isaan. There are many places like Khon Kaen, Petchaburi, Korat, Kalasin, etc. that are very nice places to visit.

No farangs, no tourists, no inflated prices.

The Drive outside of Chiang Mai north on towards Chiang Rai is nice as well. Beautiful mountain scenery.
