For your first visit, Varadero is  a good place to start. The beach is wonderful, fine white sand, safe for everyone and it goes on for ever.  There are dozens of resorts to choose from, plus Havana, a must see is an easy day trip.  Check the links below they cover more than Varadero but are worth checking out.  Have a great  time, you go once chances are you will be back.

Hi Marion...Riki gave you exellent links and nice areas to go to in Cuba. Just about anywhere you go in Cuba is nice for a holiday.

I'm going to suggest Cayo Coco and Camaguey (Santa Lucia). They are beautiful areas in Cuba as well...be sure to visit Havana while you're there if possible. It's a little distance from these parts of Cuba and the hotels offer day trips which will take you by plane (40 minute flight).

Cayo Coco is gorgeous...powder white sand and clear turquoise waters. Simply beautiful...it's a little secluded but not deserted. It is a 15 minute drive from the airport and a 45 minute drive to the town of Morón. There are a lot of things to do but it is mostly a great chill out area.

If you want to relax, then it's easy to relax and no one interferes with your time in the sun. But that's just about at any resort in Cuba.

Tryp Cayo Coco is a beautiful resort. I highly recommend it. The staff and friends there are wonderful people...the service, food and accomodations are fabulous too.

You will have a wonderful time...as Riki told you, just know you'll be back to Cuba before you know it...and you'll want to go there over and over again. You will make beautiful Cuban friends for life...they will never forget if you genuinely befriend them
