Where's best to go in Australia for a family holiday?

I'm from england and this summer i am hoping to take my family to Australia, however i have never been there before and there are so many 'states' and places to go and stay. Is there any part you would particularly recommend for 2 adults and 3 children? It would have to be a beach resort for a relaxing holiday with maybe some shopping.

Please ask if you would like any more info of what we would like to do etcc.

Thanks in advance

  1. Definately the Gold Coast I am english emigrated 10 years agao and everyday i wake up in paradise nowhere else beats it, best of everything and the kids will love it -from a fellow english person.... have fun

  2. Gold Coast in Queensland, it has all the major theme parks (Wet N Wild, Dreamworld, Sea World and Movie World), the beaches are fantastic and it's only an hour from Brisbane.  One hour north of Brisbane is Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin's zoo).

I'm originally from England but now I live on the Gold Coast.

  3. The Gold Coast...without a doubt has EVERYTHING a family could possibly want / need. Have a fantastic time :)

  4. The Gold coast... definitely!!

It has the major theme parks fr kids, beautiful surfers Paradise (lots of shopping and beaches) then if you head an hour north for drive you can go into Brisbane. They have lots of shopping (i love queen st mall) and Brisbane is a beautiful city to just look around. Brisbane river cruises are good too. Then just an hour further north is the Sunshine coast. There is Australia Zoo, and underwater world and some more great beaches and stuff to do. Anywhere around this area is great for kids.

    Have a look here

  5. I always recommend Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast. With having 3 chidren and asking for a beach resort and shopping then Gold Coast is the place for you.

How long are you planning to stay in Australia? Would'nt you like to visit a couple of places?

  6. the best place to go is sydney australia becuse there is so muh to do and they have this big faris wheel called the eye and this bridge that is 440 feel tall and u can walk to the top of it also everyone is so nice

This resort on the GoldCoast is ideal and if you want a couple of hours out without the Children you can leave them in safe hands where they will have a great time. You could also stay at The Narra resort at Sea world and just keep wandering in to Sea world at your leisure both resorts are close to our 40 kilometre stretch of Golden sands and surf. You can buy passes to 3 of the  Theme parks That is Sea World Movie world and Wet'n wild. Here there are such a lot of attractions we have Islands National Parks Wild life parks . Fabulous shopping Pacific fair and harbour Town are both very different for shopping and bargains galore mainly at harbour town as they have factory outlets for many of the designer labels. Brisbane is 1 hour away . You certainly won't run out of ideas here.

  8. I reccommend staying on the east coast, as there are more kid friendly resorts there.  One attraction to try is the Steve Erwin zoo in Queensland, and there is also an aquarium nearby called Underwater World, I think. If you are thinking farther south, and depending on the ages of the kids, the Sydney Opera House and ANZAC bridge tours are really cool, but if the kids are young, it won't fly.  My favorite resort was in the Great Barrier Reef, called Daydream Island Resort & Spa. It had nice rooms, a great spa, and easy access to snorkeling on the reef. Only downside was you have to take a boat (about15-20 minutes on the Express one) to get to the island... Hope this helps!

  9. I'm from Sydney and I'll recommend the Gold Coast up in Queensland for a great time.

It is home to Australia's major theme parks, has beautiful beaches and luxurious places to stay in.

If you like shopping, go to Melbourne.
