Question:

Where's the 'pan' in my dehumidifier?

I just got this used White Westinghouse dehumidifier & plugged it in. It's working, but I don't know where to get the 'pan' out to dump the water. I don't think it's at the very bottom because I pulled on it & it doesn't move. Anyone have any ideas? Also, does it have to be turned off to empty the pan & how often should I dump it? Thanks!

  1. On mine, you had to pull the unit out from the wall because it was accessed from the back at the bottom.  There was a release lever you had to pull first to get it to pull out and then the pan would slide out. I lived in a high humidity area when I used it and had to dump it every other day and yes, I turned it off when dumping it so that it didn't continue to collect humidity from the air while I was emptying the water.
